The last Paris fashion collection designed by Lee Alexander McQueen
The last Paris fashion collection designed by Lee Alexander McQueen debuted during Paris Fashion Week today with a presentation that paid solemn tribute to the late designer. Mohawked models draped in each of the 16 looks slowly marched across a gilded salon—a perfect backdrop for the ornate, Byzantine-inspired collection. For Fall 2010, McQueen showcased his forward-thinking vision and technical mastery by weaving digitally captured works of art into his fabrics and transforming the most intricately embroidered brocade into a wearable pouf dress. The final words in the show’s notes summed the collection best: “Each piece was unique, as was he.”
